Home Healthcare: A Growing Need in Our Nation
Home Health Care has become a growing need in our nation as the need to preserve the lives of individuals in their own surroundings becomes paramount. President Obama has signed the Older Americans Reauthorization Act (OAA) into law, reestablishing funding levels for many services that enable millions of older adults to remain in their homes through retirement.
The legislation provides funding for critical services that Alma Health provides, such as reliable transportation for elderly or disabled and home services such as grocery shopping and caregiver support/companionship, for the next three years.
“The OAA underpins a promise to preserve the right to live independently, with dignity, making everyday decisions according to our individual preferences and goals across our lifespan,” Kathy Greene, assisted secretary of aging with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), said in a statement.
We at Alma Health value the importance of maintaining one’s independence while still having access to the best care and services. The reinstatement of the OAA act reinforces the mission and goals of Alma Health; to live safely and comfortably by providing quality assistance to fit your personal needs. This includes well-coordinated, high-quality care for older adults.
Recently, we were also just honored with a Home Health accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a national organization developed by homecare and alternate-site healthcare industry providers. With service coordinators through the state of PA and in all 67 counties, Alma Health can assure you our team will help find you the best program for your loved one’s individual needs. We pride ourselves on having the best home health aides for our wide range of clients ranging from pediatrics to adults to geriatrics.
It is an exciting time to be a part of the Alma Health Family!
